140th Anniversary
Zion Lutheran Church
Zion Lutheran Church has reached a milestone in 2010 to recognize and celebrate 140 years since it was founded. This makes Zion among the oldest churches in Washington County.
A History of Zion was on display with pictures, albums, relics, etc.
A brief history of Zion : In May of 1870 in the Zionsville Community, the four founding fathers, Henry Hafer, Wm. Lehde, G. Krueger, and John Steck called a meeting to discuss details of organizing and selecting a site for a new church. The first pastor was William Pfenning who served from January 29, 1871 to January 10, 1875.
